Webinar highlights: Forecasting with Gold-Vision
Part 1: Introductions & Agenda

Roisin: We’re here to talk about sales opportunities and forecasting in Gold-Vision—how it works, what it looks like, and how it can help your team. My name is Roisin, and I’m Head of Revenue here at Gold-Vision but more well known as one of the project consultants at Gold-Vision.

Alex: I’m a Sales Consultant at Gold-Vision, working on lead generation and paid PPC. You might also know me from account management conversations.

Roisin: Today we’ll cover pipeline and opportunity management, quoting, accurate forecasting, and tips to boost sales productivity. We’ll wrap up with key takeaways and a Q&A session.

Part 2: Pipeline Views & Opportunity Management

Alex: Let’s start with pipeline management. I’m showing how I use list views to see all opportunities and filter by type and stage. You can drill into key data and use this to prioritise follow-ups.

I prefer working in visual flows, so I’m switching to a pipeline view. From here, I can drag and drop opportunities between stages. This updates data in real time and can trigger automation like alerts or follow-ups.

Each card is clickable and gives an overview of the opportunity—including follow-ups, notes, and proposal actions. You can also edit fields like close date and probability directly.

Part 3: Quoting & Quote Management

Roisin: A quote in Gold-Vision is a child of an opportunity. You can have multiple quotes—useful if you’re versioning or quoting in phases for a large project.

Key fields like type, status, and currency help you manage quotes efficiently. You can choose whether or not a quote contributes to the pipeline total.

Alex: We support multi-currency quoting—GBP, USD, EUR—whatever you need.

Part 4: Quote Lines, Margin Reporting & Templates

Roisin: Quote lines are where you build up your pricing—think of it like a shopping basket. It’s essential for product-level reporting and margin visibility.

You can also add cost values, which allows for margin calculations and reporting.

Alex: Some teams are KPI’d on margin, not just revenue. Gold-Vision supports that by calculating margin based on quote line costs.

Roisin: You can also generate branded quote templates and send them as formal documents. And if you need e-signatures, we support DocuSign and Adobe Sign.

Part 5: Quick Quote & Speeding Up the Process

Roisin: Need to send a quote fast? Use the Quick Quote feature. It creates an opportunity and a quote in one step—perfect for when time is tight.

After sending the quote, you can go back and add more detail to the opportunity later.

Part 6: Reporting & Forecasting Basics

Alex: I’m showing how to generate basic reports from selected fields—like opportunity name, stage, and probability.

Reports can be exported to Excel or CSV for management reporting. Even if you use live dashboards, exports are great for team sharing.

You can include weighted forecasts using probability values tied to opportunity stages.

Part 7: Dashboards & Business Forecasting

Alex: Here’s a business forecast dashboard showing open opportunities month-by-month. It’s live and interactive—you can click into a month to see which opportunities are contributing.

I’ve added some sample targets for Q2 and Q3 based on historic data. This can also be done per sales rep or per product.

Roisin: You can segment targets—like new vs existing customers—and track product-based performance too.

Part 8: Deeper Insight & Spotting Trends

Alex: Visuals like funnels and breakdowns help you understand where opportunities are getting stuck—like 68% sitting in trial stage.

Dashboards also help you identify bad data. If something looks off, it’s easy to spot and fix.

Part 9: Menu Pinning & Productivity Tips

Alex: You can pin dashboards or filtered views to your menu. It’s a simple way to reduce noise and help the sales team focus on just what they need.

Roisin: These can be personal or team-wide. Custom menus increase visibility and reduce friction.

Part 10: Activities & Sales Automation

Roisin: The Activities module lets you create to-dos, schedule follow-ups, and manage tasks. You can create these manually or trigger them via automation when opportunities hit certain stages.

You can also automate probability values based on stage—e.g., set 10% at stage 1—so you’re not relying on reps to estimate confidence manually.

Gold-Vision can also send automated emails, reminders, or alerts to keep deals moving forward.

Part 11: Final Takeaways & Q&A

Roisin: Your pipeline is your sales engine. Keep it clean and updated to drive performance.

Alex: Forecasting should be real-time, mobile-friendly, and customisable. Dashboards should be intuitive, logical, and actionable.

Roisin: Automate repetitive tasks and use insights to drive smarter decisions.

Live Q&A:

Philip: Can we upload separate price lists per currency?
Answer: Yes, that’s possible depending on your setup. Contact support to review.

James: Can a sales leader approve quotes via a tick box instead of digital signature?
Answer: Yes. You can tick to approve and time-stamp the quote, even on mobile. Reach out for configuration help.

Roisin: Thank you all for joining!
