The Association of British Credit Unions Ltd (ABCUL) is the leading trade association for credit unions in England, Scotland and Wales. ABCUL represents around 70% of credit unions who in turn provide services to 85% of the British credit union membership.

They provide a full range of advice, training and development services to help their member credit unions grow and become sustainable financial co-operatives.

Business need

We had a legacy CRM solution, and decided we needed to choose a new system that met our needs.

We needed to easily track emails, improve our reporting and find something that was value for money.

A key requirement of ours was integration with Microsoft Exchange. Our previous CRM system, and the 4 others shortlisted,  did not offer this. We did not like the fact that our previous CRM system had an email client and a separate area where we had to log emails. Users never checked this and it was a big hassle for us.

We also really liked the reporting functionality but the whole system impressed us. We find it really easy to find information. We also realised that it was much better value for money compared to the other CRM systems that we shortlisted.

As we are a membership organisation, we use Gold-Vision predominately to manage relationships with our members. The integrated project and event management functionality plays a vital role in running our business and we use these areas on a daily basis. 

We also use Connect to send out regular email bulletins to our members. Our internal teams take advantage of our pre-set activities and our IT team itemise our equipment and software subscriptions using Gold-Vision, making it easier to manage bookings.
