Eighteen months ago, we made a decision at Gold-Vision: we weren’t going to talk to our customers about AI until we had actually lived with it ourselves. Not a pilot, not a slide deck, the real thing, tested inside our own business, on our own workflows, within our own team.
What we found: the value isn’t in the AI. It’s in the time it gives back.
Every hour freed from follow-up drafts, CRM updates, and post-meeting admin is an hour that goes back into talking to customers. That’s the only thing that actually moves a business forward and it’s the thread that runs through everything below.
Our Journey, Step by Step
It started with a decision, not a tool. Early in 2025, we committed to building AI expertise from the inside out, experimenting, learning, and sometimes getting it wrong internally so that when we eventually guide our customers, we do it as genuine practitioners, not vendors reading from a brochure.
From there, we set a concrete, business-wide efficiency target before touching a single piece of software. That single decision kept everyone focused as the programme grew and we went on to bank more than 100 hours saved across the business.
Listening to our own people first
Every team ran its own workshop, mapping exactly where time was really going using Gold-Vision Projects. Those honest, sometimes uncomfortable conversations surfaced the manual effort that usually goes unspoken, and produced a prioritised list of AI opportunities by role.
AI learning was then built into every individual’s development plan, not as a training tick-box, but with personal objectives and demonstrated output. Tools were rolled out on request, not by default, so we could genuinely understand where AI was helping rather than adding noise.
From Tools to Teammates
- AskFlo– our first AI bot, and our internal customer service assistant, named in honour of a much-missed colleague.
- Support Agent-automated ticket logging, removing a repetitive daily task entirely and the single biggest contributor to our 100-hour efficiency milestone.
- Prof.ai certification-completed by 100% of the Gold-Vision team, not just technical staff, giving the whole business a shared, certified foundation in AI.
Before we designed a single customer-facing agent, we went back to basics: real customer service calls, onsite interviews, and our own support data, combined with external market research. That evidence, not guesswork is what shaped which agents we built, and why.
Taking it further with our Global Network
Gold-Vision is part of Volaris Group, and this year AI has been front and centre of our work together. Our Deal Agent AI that monitors pipeline activity and flags at-risk deals was developed and presented at the Volaris Group AI Programme in London, where Gold-Vision was one of only a small number of business units selected to take part.
That work continued at the Volaris Global AI Accelerator in London: four intense days alongside peers from 25 companies across the group, stress-testing our thinking on moving beyond the AI hype and doubling down on the real problems our customers care about. We carried that same energy to the Volaris Group Quadrants in Copenhagen, sharing our own successes and failures with 1,600 software leaders from across the globe, and to strategy days with the wider Turner portfolio in Cork. Every one of these was a chance to pressure-test our approach against people solving the same problems in different markets and to bring the best of it home.
We’ve also grown the team behind this work, welcoming new colleagues bringing deep customer expertise to make sure everything we build stays grounded in what our customers actually need.
Where We Are Today…
The results are business-wide, not confined to one team or one tool:
- 5% time saved across all teams — a measurable, business-wide efficiency gain, every team, every role, every week.
- More human time with customers — hours reclaimed from admin, reinvested in the conversations that actually grow relationships.
- Faster, better decisions — the right information reaching the right people automatically.
