ActiveX Controls

Outlook Add-in

ActiveX Controls

Gold-Vision makes use of ActiveX controls to communicate with Word, Outlook, Excel and other applications on the desktop. In order for Gold-Vision to use the ActiveX controls, they must be downloaded and registered on your PC. Please note that the ActiveX controls will only work if you are accessing Gold-Vision using Outlook or Internet Explorer.

There are some specific actions that are currently only supported in Internet Explorer as they rely on ActiveX controls (only available in IE).

Using TAPI dialing from a Contact/Account with a client machine plug in. Using SIP/Callto/Skype links will be OK.
In a Gold-Vision email, clicking ‘Reply’ or ‘Forward’ to open Outlook.
Running a Letter Campaign from Marketing Campaigns to output a Word document.
Running an Outlook Email Campaign
Import Contacts or Tasks directly from Outlook (by user).

For reference, document creation and opening can be completed using Server Side document production.

Automatic ActiveX Controls Download

The Gold-Vision ActiveX controls can be downloaded automatically by selecting Help > About from the main menu. When the page loads you may be prompted to Install one or more ActiveX controls either via a dialog message or at the top of the screen via the information bar.

Please note that your security settings may restrict ActiveX controls from being downloaded. If this is the case, you may need to speak to a System Administrator in order to register the ActiveX controls.

Manually Installing ActiveX Controls

The Gold-Vision ActiveX Controls can be manually installed and registered using our MSI installer. Please find a link to this below. Download the ZIP file and unzip all contents to a suitable location on your PC. Run the MSI file with Administrative rights to install and register the controls.
