Searching Tips

Search helpers help users to make use of the Gold-Vision filters that appear at the top of most lists.  For text-based searches the user is presented with options such as “starts with…” or “ends with..” and for numeric search options such as “greater than…” or “less than…”.

Where do I find the Search Helpers? They appear in the form of a small magnifier to the inside and to the right of most list filter fields.

How do I use the Search Helpers? Click on the magnifier and select from the options how you would like the list to be filtered.

For the “Any of these words” search does it matter how I separate them? You can either use a SPACE or a COMMA to separate the words, either works.

In a list with numeric values, for example Open Opportunities use the Search Helper to find Opportunities over or under a certain value.

Creating and Using Favorites

Gold-Vision Favorites allow quick access to a list or an item within Gold-Vision. You probably have a list of items that you view on a regular basis. You can save this list as a Gold-Vision Favorite which means that the next time you need to view the items it is just a one click action. Not only can you do this with lists you can also save individual item records as Favorites. This way you build up a Favorites area within your Gold-Vision system which helps you to move easily around those areas that are key to you.

Using The Short Cut Menu

When in a list in Gold-Vision, the short cut menu or mini menu is a quick way to add notes, create new activities, viewing recent events and notes. Simply right click the item (Account, Contact, Activity etc)

For example to quickly add a Category:

Or to add view recent events and notes

Unable to upload a Campaign to Connect

When uploading a campaign to Connect a user might see the following message - ‘You are not a Gold-Vision Connect User’.

If the user is normally able to upload a campaign to Connect but now gets this message, but can otherwise access Connect, via Tools  Gold-Vision Connect, then please try the following:

1. Restart the data transfer service then try to upload the Campaign again.
2. If the same message appears, your IT support provider will need to review the network settings.

Gold-Vision will be using one of the following sets of addresses to communicate with out Connect servers. The variant being used will be stored in the registry on the Gold-Vision server.

http;
http://data.gv-c.com:8080/
http://portal.gv-c.com:8081/

https;
https://portal-svc.gv-c.com/

https://data.gv-c.com/

The Connect Data Service cannot communicate with these Hosted Services and consequently cannot establish if the current user has a user account in Connect.

After establishing which variant is set in the registry, make sure that these url’s are whitelisted on your firewall (and Proxy Server if one is used) to ensure these service endpoints can be reached by your Gold-Vision Connect service.
