Introduction

Gold-Vision’s Google Maps integration allows users to visualise their CRM data in an entirely new way.
Customer, supplier and prospect records can now be displayed through an interactive map view.
The view shows individual pins to help users visualise customer locations and will automatically group pins together in order to better visualise the density of customers in particular locations.

Creating a Map View

The 'Map' view option has been added to all major lists to allow any geocoded items to be displayed on a map. In order for the map view to be displayed, one geocoded field must be selected to be displayed on the list (eg Post Code) else an error will be displayed to the user.

The map view shows individual pins for each object when there are less than approximately 100 of them and groups them together when there are more, for performance and ease of use. The user also has the option to sub-group by a field of their choice from the currently displayed fields and this will allow them to see a breakdown by each distinct value.

Ensure you have a column with a Geocode Field - for example Post Code. Filter list as required and click the Map Tab

Clicking on a pin will highlight the Account in the legend and vice-versa. To open the Account record click the Account Icon.

Grouping

Where there are more than approximately 100 items the location will be shown in groups:

Sub Grouping

The information can be broken down further by sub-groups for example by Account Manager or by Industry:

Radius Filtering

To show all records within a certain a certain radius of a location click the Globe Icon, enter a post code, click Look Up then add a radius to search on.

Route Planning

A Route Planner has been added which allows a user to drag and drop objects of any type into the dropzone
and have a route planned between them.
The Route Planner can optimise the route so that the route covers the shortest distance from start to finish, including all waypoints.
NB. Only interim waypoints will be optimised, the start and finish points remain as they are.
It also allows users to avoid toll road and highways and print the instructions and timings for their route.

Option 1 - List View

Filter your list and click the Route Tab (ensure you have a geo-coded field on the list, eg post code, and a maximum of 25 items in the list.

Click to opitmise your route, use 'Custom Waypoint' to add start/end points or additional places to visit. Click the print tab to print directions.

Option 2 - Drag and Drop Items From Lists

Items in a list view can be added to the drop box in the bottom right hand side of the list view.

Additional items from other Geo Coded lists can be added.

Once items are in the Drop Zone click Route Planner to view the Route

Option 3 - Drag and Drop From Map View

From a Map view of Items for example a filtered list of Accounts, drag and drop individual pins into the 'drop zone' then click Route Planner

Option 4 - Single Destination Planning

To get directions from your current location to a particular location (eg an individual Account) search for the item and click Route. Your current location will automatically be added.

FAQs

Users can't see the Map Tab

Check that the setting Access Mapping is selected for Users in the Administration Console

Users can't see Geo-coded records

Make sure your Geo-Coded field is on the list design. This is shown by the Globe Icon

Not all records have been Geo-Coded

Check with your Account Manager. It may be that you have done a Data Import and have gone over your Daily Quota.

What is my Daily Quota?

Geo-Coded items (for example the Post Code of your Accounts) are refreshed over a period of 21 days. Therefore if you have 42,000 records to Geo-Code, we will set you Daily Quota to be 2,000.

What if I have a Data Import to do?

Contact your Account Manager, we might need to increase your Daily Quota and if you would like your new records to be Geo-Coded straightaway there is a one off fee of £30.
